In 2009, the concept of “perceiving China” was proposed, marking the beginning of the first year of China’s Internet of Things. Afterwards, many young people were eager to join the Internet of Things industry and seize the opportunity for industry development. Among this group of young people, a young man from Sichuan chose to settle down and start a business in Jinan. With his courage, hard work, and hard work, he has made a name for himself in the field of the Internet of Things. He is Gu Xin, the founder of the Internet of Things.
Dreams shine into reality
In 2004, Gu Xin chose the Microelectronics major at the School of Physics, Shandong University when filling out his college application for the college entrance examination, which opened his close connection with Jinan, Shandong. During his school years, Gu Xin often immersed himself in the laboratory and was exposed to the Internet of Things while researching experimental techniques, which sparked his entrepreneurial ideas.
Between 2008 and 2009, Gu Xin began researching the electronic market trends in various regions and found that many companies in the market had a need for networking. In 2009, the State Council approved the construction of the first “National Sensor Network Innovation Demonstration Zone”, leading China into a new era of intelligence. This also gave Gu Xin the opportunity to start a business in the field of the Internet of Things.
After preliminary exploration and preparation, Gu Xin established the first IoT company in Jinan in 2012. In the same year, Qilu Software Park in Jinan High tech Zone was approved as a “National New Industrialization Industry Demonstration Base (Software and Information Service Industry)”, which attracted Gu Xin’s attention. With the rapid growth of business, the existing office environment could no longer meet work needs. Gu Xin decided to relocate the company to the High tech Zone, opening his entrepreneurial story in Qilu Software Park.
In the early stages of entrepreneurship, Gu Xin was responsible for all the big and small affairs of the company’s operation alone, holding multiple positions, busy yet fulfilling. Although time is tight and he is often tired, when he sees his dreams gradually become reality, he still grittes his teeth and strides forward, because he knows that as long as he does not stop chasing and striving, he will eventually usher in the day when he sees the light through the clouds.
The towering tree finally grows into
2014 is known as the year of “smart home” in the industry. This year, China sparked a wave of smart home craze. Influenced by the overall environment, Gu Xin and her team discussed and turned their attention to traditional socket outlets, determined to create a popular product – a WiFi smart socket that can remotely control the switch with a mobile phone. However, due to the immature market environment at that time, this product unfortunately encountered a cold reception, and the company was once in a difficult situation.
Difficulties did not make Gu Xin shrink back. After reviewing and summarizing experience, Gu Xin combined the existing enterprise groups and resource advantages of Qilu Software Park to explore a new path for developing enterprises with Ethernet products.
Hard work pays off. In less than five years, Gu Xin led the company to gradually establish a foothold in the Internet of Things industry, achieving a breakthrough in revenue from 0 to 100 million. With the continuous development and growth of the company, in 2016, Guxin registered and established its second IoT company in Qilu Software Park, with the mission of “connecting value, value connection”, focusing on the research and development, production, and sales of industrial networking communication products.
After 10 years of exploration and development, the company has become a leading provider of industrial Internet of Things software and hardware solutions in the industry. It has won many honors such as national level specialized, refined, special and new “little giant” enterprise, high-tech enterprise, provincial/municipal gazelle enterprise, provincial/municipal specialized, refined, special and new enterprise, provincial top 100 software and information technology service enterprises, and top 10 industry leaders. It has become a shining entrepreneurial star in Qilu Software Park.
Empowering thousands of industries and businesses
With the large-scale application of the new generation of information technology, Qilu Software Park has gathered multiple industry categories such as high-end software, big data, integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, and information technology application innovation. As a technical controller from the “Science Class” of Shandong University’s Microelectronics major, based on years of practical experience in the Internet of Things industry, Gu Xin keenly perceives the direction of industrial development, focuses on the upstream and downstream of the Internet of Things industry, explores the path of integrating the upstream and downstream of the industrial Internet of Things, and attempts to “hand in hand” various industries with Internet of Things technology.
From 2017 to 2020, Gu Xin led the team to independently develop big data cloud platform technology, cloud configuration technology, Internet of Things technology and edge computing technology. Among them, the independently developed cloud configuration technology is the first in the country, with zero programming and simple drag and drop configuration to build IoT systems, flexibly adapting to automation monitoring application scenarios in various industries; PLC edge computing technology can realize the compatibility and connection of the bottom layer of the mainstream industrial control equipment protocol in the market, and solve the problem of fragmentation of the Internet of Things; At the same time, based on the existing technology research and development, we have completed the manned industrial Internet big data cloud platform. Relying on the cross industry solution of “cloud+terminal”, we have integrated the Internet of Things technology into a variety of application scenarios, such as smart factories, smart logistics, smart agriculture, smart buildings, and smart cities, to achieve “equipment cloud people service” interoperability, improve efficiency, optimize decision-making, and reduce costs.
The industrial Internet big data cloud platform has also successfully passed the evaluation of scientific and technological achievements, and has been evaluated as a domestic leader. It has been evaluated as a number of pilot demonstration projects such as the innovation pilot application case of the national industrial Internet platform of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the service-oriented manufacturing demonstration platform of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the service-oriented manufacturing demonstration platform of Shandong Province, the pilot demonstration project of the industrial Internet platform of Shandong Province, and the industrial Internet application innovation demonstration project of Jinan City.
At the beginning of 2022, Gu Xin was elected as a member of the Jinan Municipal Political Consultative Conference and put forward proposals on talent attraction and small and medium-sized enterprise production plants, which also opened up another broader perspective for him to view this city.
