ICEY is a 2D side-scrolling action game. Following the instructions of the narrator, you will see, fight and discover the truth of the world in the game through ICEY’s eyes. But in fact, this is not a 2D horizontal action game at all, you don’t see it through ICEY’s eyes, you don’t explore the truth of the world.

ICEY is essentially a Meta game where the player has to think about what a game is, what the truth is, and so on, against the dictates of a narrator. In ICEY, you play ICEY, not “yourself.” You can also play “yourself” instead of ICEY. It’s a trap wrapped in the guise of an action game.
